Technical Sales Manager

There is one opening in the Business
Development Department for a Technical Sales Manager. This position will report
to the Director of Business
Development.
POSITION SUMMARY
Consistent with the RCC
business plan, pursues sales activities to secure contracts for manufacturing of
peptides with third party customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the interaction with current and
prospective customers including trade shows, customer visits, teleconferences
and other sales efforts. Evaluates chemistry needs of prospective customers for
contract development and manufacturing. Suggests development and manufacturing
solutions to customers based on RCC’s commercial capacities and business plan.
Responsible for developing and maintaining a close business relationship with
current and prospective customers. Responsible for working on a team to analyze
the potential market and develop the marketing strategy for peptide development
and manufacturing.
Planning
·
Organizes and leads the
preparation of responses to Request for Proposals and Price Quotations;
·
Works with the Director of
Business Development and the PMC to assess the feasibility of development for
manufacturing of peptides for third party customers.
·
Participates in department
budget generation.
·
Works with Technical Development
group to understand RCC’s internal capacities and timelines for delivery.
·
Prepares marketing materials and
advertising for current and prospective customers.
·
Organizes the Roche Colorado
Peptide Symposium and other scientific related activities with the potential to
attract current and prospective customers.
Marketing/Sales
·
Travels to visit potential key
customers.
·
Organizes RCC’s participation at
industry trade shows and represents RCC at the trade shows including providing
technical information on peptide manufacturing and development.
·
Maintains the Business
Development Sales Lead Library.
·
Stays current with advances in
peptide manufacturing both within RCC and with the competition.
·
Tracks current and prospective
customer clinical progress to identify potential opportunities for manufacturing
of peptides for third party customers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
College degree in Science (preferably in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Biology).
PhD level preferred. Minimum 3 years peptide experience in development and/or
manufacturing. Experience in some area of sales, marketing or clinical programs
given preference.

Senior Peptide Process
Research Chemist

There is currently one opening in the
Technical Development Department for a Senior Peptide Process Research Chemist.
This position will report to the Manager, Contract Projects.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the planning and execution of multi step peptide syntheses from
laboratory through to full commercialization. Emphasis is on the creative
application of a full range of literature and theoretical concepts from a
diverse range of peptide chemistry to the design and implementation of
cost-effective processes for the manufacture of Roche and other
pharmaceuticals. Will work within a team-oriented environment with
professionals from a variety of disciplines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Independently plan
and execute syntheses of peptides and peptide conjugates while working in a
project team

Perform peptide
synthesis using commercial peptide synthesizers

Conduct analysis
using HPLC, NMR and mass spectroscopy

Work effectively in
a team-oriented environment

Present work orally
and in form of written development reports

Adhere to cGMP and
SOPs in all aspects of work
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Doctoral degree (Ph. D.) in Organic Chemistry specializing in peptide synthesis
is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. The
successful candidate must have a proven track record of hands on peptide
synthesis in the laboratory.

Senior Manufacturing Chemist

There is currently one opening in
Manufacturing for a Senior Manufacturing Chemist. This position will
report to the Technical Manager.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides
leadership in the areas of chemistry and documentation support to
manufacturing on assigned projects and processes. This includes
technology transfers, new process startup and changeover, validation of
existing and new processes, continuous process improvements, and trouble
shooting for the various processes. Ensure that the chemistry is
sufficient to meet goals on process yields, throughputs and QEH&S
requirements. Experience in peptide chemistry is desired but not
essential.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure that the
chemistry of processes is sufficient to meet yields, throughputs and QEH&S
goals.

Lead chemistry
aspects of technology transfers and new process startups.

Coordinate and
perform technical aspects of process changeovers.

validation process for existing and new processes.

Provide
leadership on the chemistry and documentation support on assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree

related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
and experience. Experience in peptide chemistry is desired but not
essential.
